really no activity to report up until this point just a bunch of stress. still no babies so im guessing goliath did not breed any doe's right away he probably had to wait a couple of weeks for them to come in season. keep you posted

just did the morning check at 0640 and not kids yet lol. hopefully they'll start on christmas!i know there pregnant i had some ultrasounded.its not a figment of my imagination. very cold out there.

Checked on the goats at 0610 and nothing except a bunch of pregnant goats laying in the snow. not in the covered barn. snowing pretty good now and still no new kids. Goatheadacres has had four of them drop today but no kids out of MAGNUMS GOLIATH as of yet.

At approximately 1945 one of our unregistered doe's ETAG 5023.sired by ash creek david, had a little paint buckling, both momma and kid our eating well and in the barn under heat lamp outside temp.is 26 right now but suppose to get down to 10 tonight. more updates tomorrow.

0630 baby buckling and momma are doing fine. No other babies to report at this time but im sure they'll be coming with the arrival of the new one hopefully triggering a wave of new babies.

Yesterday was 12-27-09 was a very exciting day for us here at Bosque Farms Boer Goats,we had our first arrivals from MAGNUMS GOLIATH !!! they seem to be really nice looking traditional kids that goes for all (3) of them the first buckling was born @ 1450 with no problems and it took about an hour for him to start eating and @ 1548 buckling number arrived and boy was he big and hungry he was eating in 14 min. then @ 1615 we saw another head exposed and it stayed that way until 1630 and the final push, momma was tired so i assisted in removing the sack and cleaning off a little bit smaller traditional doe who didnt seem to want to stand for a while so we milked momma and got her some much needed cholostrum then gave her a goat power drench a few minutes later. @ 2240 did a quick check and all were fine as well as 0620 this morning.

Well today was a productive day,we had 5 kids born today. Two were born at 0630 and 0645 out of one of our unregistered doe's. Mid afternoon we had a single born out of one of our 100% doe's bred to ASH CREEK DAVID. Early this evening around 1800 one of our 75% paint doe's had twins sire MAGNUMS GOLIATH. Will post pics thursday or friday.

well we at BFBG are proud to announce are first sell of the year! congratulations to Jean sanchez of los lunas who purchased a very nice looking wether on 2-13 and then decided she wanted his sister on 2-14 and good luck in the show ring.
I have not been able to post any updates this week. My computer crashed. so i will post pics. wednesday or thursday.

between are last post and now weve lost 4 little newborns, two were born about a month early and two were from a new momma and she wasnt sure what to do when they arrived. we have 1 100% momma due any day now.
This morning and afternoon we vaccinated,wormed,banded wether's and tagged ears for those who needed there scrappies tags.

very exciting day for us. we had a doe it labor with a perineal hernia not sure on spelling there, anyways she had to have a c-section i was able to view the procedure, it was interesting. had a doeling and a bucking.

we had three more babies born today. early this afternoon one of our 99.5% doe's had two nice looking little doelings out of magnums goliath. At about 7 pm on of our lamancha doe's had a single doeling that needed some help coming into this world. both momma's and the three babies are doing fine.

sorry we have not posted anything in a while weve been busy selling of our wethers. Regretfully the santa fe county auction did not go well for us as we were not informed to shave our animals prior to selling. none the less a good learning experience. The estancia pen sell did not draw many people either. but the next day we sold the rest of our wethers and some doelings to a gentleman from catron co. reserve, NM we wish them luck.

everything is going well here at BFBG. went to the western goat days show in farmington,NM and goliath did well for being 5.5 yrs. old. our first show. very good learning experience.
